Silvio Celeghin

Always engaged in liturgical organist, began, when 11 years old, to work with the organ at the church of his city, Noale (Venice). He studied at the Padua and Castelfranco Veneto (Treviso) Music Conservatories, and got his diploma with the highest marks in PIANO (1985), ORGAN (1990) and HARPISCHORD (1997) under the direction of M. Caprara, R. Buja and L. Levi Minzi. He later specialized in the piano and organ repertoire under V. Pavarana and F. Finotti and J. Guillou respectively, he participates to masterclass for organ interpretation with Jean Guillou (Zurich), Luigi Ferdinando Tagliavini (San Petronio in Bologna), Olivier Latry (San Sebastian).

He has been a prize winner at several national and international contests (Albenga, Noale, Monferrato) and won the third prize at the Internationaler Orgelwettbewerb “J.J. Froberger” of Kaltern (Bolzano) in 1995. He has given several concerts both as a soloist and in duo with Fabiano Maniero, soloist trumpet player in Orchestra La Fenice in Venice, playing with chamber ensembles, both instrumental and vocal, and with important italian orchestras: “Orchestra di Padova e del Veneto”, “Milano Classica”, ”Maggio Musicale Fiorentino”, “La Fenice” in  Venice, and Simon Bolivàr in Caracas. Since 1999 he has been cooperating regularly as a soloist and a concert performer with “I Solisti Veneti” of Claudio Scimone and with “La Fenice Theatre Orchestra” . He has played with famous directors and soloists, such as R. Muti, M. Viotti, C. Scimone and others. In December 2003 he was invited with La Fenice Orchestra to the re-opening of La Fenice Theatre, and played at the inauguration concerts directed by R. Muti and M. Viotti. He is the principal organist of the “Schola S. Rocco” of Vicenza (www.scholasanrocco.it).

He has recorded for Tring, Velut Luna, Artis Records, Warner Fonit, Azzurra Music, La Bottega Discantica, Stradivarius, Tactus; among the recordings, with “I Solisti Veneti”, directed by C. Scimone, with whom he has recorded music of the Venetian school in various CDs and DVDs, further to a radio recording for Radio Vaticana. Among the latest productions the Cd  Vivaldi & Venice that include some Vivaldi’s concerts adapted for organ. In 2005 “ll Duello”, he recorded for two organs (GB Piaggia and G. Callido) at the Basilica dei Frari in Venice; In 2013  “G. Verdi- organ four hands” with Federica Iannella.

He has taken part in several performances held in important Italian cities such as Venice (St. Mark Cathedral, “La Fenice” Theatre, “Scuola Grande S.G. Evangelista”, Basilica dei “Frari”, the church of “La Pietà”), Padua (Basilica of S. Antonio, Auditorium “C. Pollini”), Milan, Rome (Vatican), Spoleto, Florence, Bolzano, Novara, Trieste, Palermo. He has been invited to various international Festivals such as St. Maximin en Provence, Marmoutier, Nancy, Strasbourg and Alpe d’Huez in France, London (England), Zurich and Gstaad (Switzerland), Warsaw (Poland), Innsbruck (Austria), Zagreb (Croatia), Istanbul (Turkey), Gavle and Uppsala (Sweden), Brussels (Belgium) and Tolosa and San Sebastian (Spain), Metropolitan Cathedral (Mexico) Simon Bolivar Hall  – Caracas (Venezuela), Moscow (Russia) San Paolo-Rio dJ (Brasil), China.   In 2007 was one of eight international organists of the world premiere of “La Revolte des Orgues” by Jean Guillou. He has been on 2010 the first italian organist invited directly by J.A. Abreu, in Venezuela for a tournèe with “Simon Bolivar Orchestra” and for playing the new organ “Klais” in Caracas.
